While every class can be a functional Mercenary/Partner, some specific builds are particularly noteworthy at this and will have a specific additional note related to this. Once one of your characters reaches the level required to unlock a new tier of a skill tree, EVERY character you own also gains access to that tier (but you will still need to purchase it from the Sofya City library for each one). Skill trees listed as Supporting Skills are explicitly based on their synergy with the main Weapon skill of the class, and do not consider the universal support trees that equally improve everyone such as Survival Skills, Battle Skills, Guard Skills and Support Skills. While strictly speaking there are no hard locked classes within Toram Online, given how different weapons get their damage boosted by different attributes which in turn increases different derived Character Attributes, plus most skills get a significant effectiveness boost with a very specific weapon type and some are even hard locked to not work whatsoever except with one very specific weapon, there are definite distinct builds that work well which for all intents and purposes are character classes.
